Rev. Dr. Sergei Nikolaev is the President of the Moscow Theological Seminary of the United Methodist Church and an E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism. He holds a Ph.D. in Christian Tradition from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. His research and teaching focus on evangelism, spiritual formation and discipleship, recovering Methodist history in Russia, and bringing Wesleyan and Eastern Orthodox theology into conversation. Nikolaev is an ordained elder in the Central Russia Conference and has served churches both in Russia and the US. He has served as a delegate to the last three General Conferences. Additionally, through the years, he has served as a director of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, and a member of the Board of the International Association of Methodist Schools Colleges and Universities, the Committee on Central Conference Affairs, the Committee on Faith and Order, the Central Conference Theological Education Fund, and the General Сonference Committee on Reference.
