Christian counseling at New Covenant offers you a pathway from your pain and suffering to a more vibrant and joyful life in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Typical problems addressed include:  depression, prolonged grief, anxiety, stress, marriage and family conflict, problems associated with childhood and adolescence, as well as stage of life issues and emotional healing needs.

Our counseling services are offered to all members of our community and surrounding areas who are seeking Christian mental health care. Our staff is experienced with adults, couples, children, and families. You do not need to be a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church to receive services.

OUR MISSION

The membership of New Covenant United Methodist Church has responded to God’s call to bear one another’s burdens by offering a Christian Counseling ministry. We offer quality Christian counseling provided by licensed and experienced mental health counselors.  By combining Biblical truths and the power of the Holy Spirit with psychological principles, Christian counseling offers a pathway from pain and suffering to a more vibrant and joyful life and relationship with Jesus Christ.  We believe that the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit and the responsible actions of individuals work together to heal and restore regardless of the difficulty.

FEES FOR SERVICES

Payment for services is determined by a sliding fee scale based on your annual household income. Your fee will be discussed at your first appointment. No insurance reimbursement option is available. A scholarship program is available for those with financial need. Our goal is to make quality Christian counseling available to everyone regardless of income.

Connie Giguere

Connie joined the New Covenant Counseling Ministry in July 2013. With over 35 years of experience in various mental health treatment settings, her experience includes developmental disabilities, mood disorders, prolonged grief, family of origin trauma and neglect, substance abuse, and marriage & family counseling. She earned a Master’s Degree in Education from University of Michigan in 1981. Feeling called by the Lord to specialize in Christian counseling, she completed a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2005.  Connie’s passion is to help people develop a deeper and more vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ during the challenges and struggles of daily life.

Kyle Beerman

Kyle is new to the New Covenant Counseling Ministry. He recently moved from Nashville, TN, with his wife Natalie, their new baby Atlas Jane, and golden-doodle, EL. Kyle graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He previously worked at Belmont University and practiced counseling at Brentwood Baptist Church. He has a heart for walking with people who are looking for someone to listen and care about their unique circumstances. He works with both couples and individuals and has experience with grief, addiction, anxiety, depression, spiritual/existential discernment, trauma, marital crisis, and suicidal ideation. Based on the key foundations of empathic listening, insightful understanding, faith-driven care, grace, and creativity, he knows there is Grace and hope for your journey.

Brenda Warren

Brenda joined the Counseling Ministry at New Covenant in June 2017, bringing with her a variety of experiences with individual and group divorce support and other recovery groups. She earned a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University in 2004 and was licensed as a professional counselor in her home state of Illinois. Brenda is also certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. She has a deep compassion for people who suffer from all forms of social injustice. This led her to pursue licensure in Florida as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. She is responding to God’s call to “bear one another’s burdens” through the counseling ministry and serving with Helping Hands.


 

Grace Ireland

Grace joined the New Covenant Counseling Ministry in June 2019. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with expertise and interest in the treatment of depression, grief, trauma and abuse, women with chronic illnesses, family transitions and difficulties (loss of spouse, relationship and grief), ADD, PTSD, medical issues and loss. She earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Simmons University in 1993, Post-Graduate certificate in Advanced Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy at Boston University School of Social Work and studied Clinical Training in Mind/Body at Harvard Medical School. Grace is licensed in the State of Florida and previously licensed in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and bring 26 years of experience including providing community mental health, emergency room mental health, emergency room mental health evaluations, hospital, schools and inpatient psychiatric and out-patient clinical settings and private practice. Grace feels called to Christ’s ministry of healing: physical, emotional and spiritual healing through the hearing of the word, prayer and counseling; believing there is help during the upheavals of life.
